I've listened to this song probably 5 times in the last 2 weeks, and I read the thread again today. I just now realized that I have not posted in this thread. I'm assuming that being awestruck every time I listen to this, I forget to post.

The original in my opinion pales in comparison to Kody's cover. Thank you Kody for this inspiring cover!

Man, you sing like you've got industrial sized balls :D
Ha Ha, I just read through this post again and had a great good laugh at this comment.  So Kody, are they?  Seriously great vocal performance here and the recording is perfect.

Really really nice!!!  Really nice voice. I enjoyed this alot - thanks for sharing it. :)

The vocals on this version sound alot better than the other one. Please, any tips on how to produce such a nice recording would be greatly received. Many thanks.  :)

Yup you rock! and I owe you a huge thanks on your tips for singing.

Wow! Just fabulous, Kody! This is definitely a crisper recording, and the performance exceptional. Hats off to you, man. You nailed it.

Need details. What mic(s) did you use? How did you mic the guitars? Reverb, EQ on your voice? Great work!

There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Thanks for the comments guys!

I used my MXL 990 mic for the vocals and a Line 6 Pod XT with a patch modeled after a tube preamp w/ a little chorus for the acoustic guitar...I ran both of those into my mixer and recorded them simultaneously. The acoustic was picked up in the vocal and it also had it's own channel, but they all had the same stereo BR track.....  I used a little plate reverb from the mixer.  The vocal channel was EQed (from mixer) pretty much flat other than a little extra in the high.  I sat a good 2 to 3 feet away from the mic.  The harmony was done with the same settings and technique.  The other
guitar was an electric ran through the Pod XT... and the keyboard is my daughter's Casio....

Thanks alot for checking it out guys!!

Well thanks, Facemask93!!  I've always loved making music~ from a very young age.....and sharing the music is what it's all about.  I have written songs in the past,  it's been awhile , but I'm starting to get with it again...otherwise I've been doing covers for a long long time.  At age 28, I started going to college last August to become a music teacher...I'm looking forward to a life full of music, for work and play!! Thanks for your kind words, see you around!!
