The trumpet lends this a retro sound to it, like a whitebread pop song from the late 60's and early 70's – "Arizona" by Mark Lindsay and such. (I'm trying not to mention Burt Bacharach on this site anymore, so I won't.) The lead uke way over on the right with a ton of reverb, that adds to the late '60s vibe. Finally: The groove. It's so good, yet restrained. There's a sense of, "Don't piss me off; I can rock much harder than this!"

The whole feel of the music supports the image of a boomer ranting about emojis.

I know are too young to be a boomer, Hook. I'm barely in that window, but I disavow myself from boomers. "I'm Generation Jones, dammit!," I will protest. But, yeah, this gives voice to my personal beef with emojis.

BTW: Did you know that Simple Machines (the software that runs this site) has the ability to enable a Like button? I'm so glad that's not enabled. I prefer that we are expected to "use our words" when we react to a song.

Digging the rhythm of this, the inclusion of the brass really helps it along - loving that guitar tone towards the end, starts to sound pretty evil in that section before the final chorus!
