Hey Kody-

From what I've heard of your playing, you'll be a natural on slide! 48 posted a good link for showing open E tuning. The strings are tuned E-B-E-G♯-B-E, low to high. On an acoustic, you may want try open D instead for less stress on the neck. If you get into it, you may also want to check out open G/open A tuning, which has a higher, more country sound used by the bluegrass Dobro guys and early Muddy Waters stuff. You may also want to try heavy strings and a higher action for slide playing. However, I haven't changed the original setup on my Danelectro and it works just fine: a .10 gauge string set and medium action.

I think one of the current kings of slide guitar and a good guy to study is Derek Trucks, who is carrying the torch from Duane. His playing has a soulfully expressive, vocal quality.

Your playing has inspired me, man, so I'm glad to give some back!

Ahh thanks~ You're so kind man...I'm very familiar with Derek Trucks!! I have an Allman Bros Live DVD with him playing on it at a very young age!! Good Stuff!!

And I tuned my guitar to open G once LOL! It was a long time ago, I can't remember how I did it hehahe! I'm definitely gonna give this a go!! Cool!

Thanks 48!! I'm gonna be all over that link!!

I love ya BB!!
