Hi, I thought that this was a good video.

Its about how our music gets converted to digital media and what that means for the quality.  There is a section in the first 20 minutes that explains sampling rate and bit rates and that was news to me.

I like this him and what he has to say most of the time (He has been on Pensado's Place twice...the last time a week ago), but he was also one of the engineers who brick-wall limited Metallica's Death Magnetic before it got to mastering. That isn't his normal take on things, though, so that might be producer Rick Rubin's influence. I'm sure somebody around here knows the story better than I do.
