This is one of the songs that got a lot of record play at the house when I was a kid (my mother was a big fan of Tom Jones).

I like your intimate version better.

This one of those songs that is so easy to dismiss superficially – but is actually heartbreaking if you let it get under your skin. Your delivery, ORH, adeptly twists the knife. LITLR gives the song a perfect lonely feeling. (Why the hell would anyone ever do this song as a duet, or with backing vocals – as it's been done many times – as though to miss the point as bomastically as possible.) The panning echo gives it an appropriate dreamlike effect.
