I just read this thread again! ROFLMAO I bet you wish you kept your mouth shut now!

I Am so glad that I have found this inspirational site. You guys are top notch people. I have come so far in such a short period of time, and I owe it to each of you! Thank you all!

I find I get inspired by something every day by coming on this wonderful site, but then again, a web site is only as wonderful as the folks who are on it (yes, even the hidden members, especially the hidden members  :D)

Hello,

I started playing when i was around 15, 31 years ago!  I wish that Al Gore had invented the Internet back then  ; ), there are so many GREAT sites out there for learning the guitar.  I would also recomend Netflix, they have a huge library of instructional DVD's taht will also help for learning different styles and techniques.

I would rcommend that you start with your first position chords and visit sites like chordie.com, pull down songs that you want to learn.

As for personal instruction, you should be able to tell the instructor what you want to play and they should be able to accomodate you.

I have been trying to focus more on my technique and thoug I own a Micro BR, have not recorded too many songs.  I use it mostly for recording jams that I have with other folks.

Just my two cents,

Bob

Hey RobSmith, thanks for the reply. This was actually a semi-old post that I dug up, and it reminded me how far I have come.

The netflix idea is brilliant. I've decided that anything I didn't think of first must be brilliant.

I use the MBR as a lie detector. I keep telling myself that what I just played was awesome. Then the MBR tells me I have a lot of work to do.
