Yes, and Hydrogen is open-source, which is very cool. I've it installed in Ubuntu (Linux).

during the holidays, Toontracks were offering a buy 1 expansion pack get 2 free for EZ drummer-I've only used it a couple times now but the sounds of these kits are phenomenal-They come with a bunch of patterns too.
If you have a PC DAW, you can freeze the the track and export it to the MBR.
I find that when it comes to programming drum tracks, fast is the key. Otherwise, I can can lose inspiration and interest fiddling with building patterns.
My number 1 wish for the MBR would be to have the capability to program custom patterns. But it is what it is, for me it's more of a field recorder with multi track capability.

Yo, Antisocialworker...we have a few of those at our office...

I bought Beatcraft, it is friggin awesome, easy to use, and dirt cheap.  However, I will admit that more frequently I use loop samples from http://www.betamonkeymusic.com/.

Beta monkey offers professional high quality loops for next to nothing.  All you'd need is some software to arrange the loops.

Going one step further; most of the Betamonkey CDs come with a folder with one hits.  So you could create your own kit in Beatcraft!

I bought the Punk and Backbeat CDs.  I also bought the Funk CDs but regret it--they're not just funky beats they are 100% concentrated Funk beats.  Its good, but I hardly play FUNK.

This is for 64guitars: I installed the Boss Rhythm editor and can create a pattern, I have Audacity, but I don't know how to get Audacity to record the drums. Can you help? Thanks.

64Guitars

In the Mixer Toolbar, you should see a drop-down list for Input selection. You need to select "Stereo Mix" from that list.

This will allow you to record whatever is going to your sound card. So just click the Record button in Audacity, then start the Rhythm Editor playing.

If the Input selection drop-down list is not shown in Audacity, or it's disabled, see this page:

Wel, I got it to work, selecting the "Wave Out" on the Mixer toolbar, since I can't seem to get "Stereo Mix" to show up (The Audacity link didn't aply to my computer setup, since I don't have RealTek, I seem to have "SoundmMax" instead) But, anyway, it records now. Thanks.

64Guitars

Yes, I think it depends on your soundcard driver as to whether it says "Stereo Mix", "Wave Out", "Sum", "What U Hear", or "Loopback". I should have mentioned that. Sorry. But anyway, Input selection is the key to making it work and you found the right one.

Hi, I have been "lurking" these forums for a while and getting some very helpful tips. Thanks guys. Just a quick question for 64guitars could you please post the fake BR files for the BR900CD Rhythm Editor again as the link longer seams to work and I am looking into using the Rhythm Editor as I haven't got to grips with the Micros rhythm arranger. Thanks in advance ;)

I just tried the link from my earlier message and it still works just fine. You must be doing something wrong, or you're trying to access the wrong link. Here it is again for your convenience:

It's also available in the Files section of the Yahoo! BossBr group, if you're a member there.
