As a kid I was in the school brass band (cornet and soprano cornet) and Finlandia was in our repertoire too.  It is a superb piece.  We weren't very good so we only inflicted ourselves on the school at assembly and the occaisional parents evening.

The school is no longer there - but I don't think that is totally down to the brass band!
