I was lucky to see Dio live about 2 years before his death, playing all my favorite Rainbow and Dio classics.
Maybe he wasn't anymore in best shape like in 80's but still, he sings really well, and as always, really kind and respective for the audience. Here is cover version one of those classic songs, Stand Up And Shout.

I only saw Dio once and that was in the mid seventies with Rainbow at the Hammersmith Odeon.

I can't handle that Yngwie Malmsteen style of technique. I'm more old school player(Page, Iommi, Clapton, Blackmore).

Super cover and great guitar playing and shredding.

I saw Dio many times, in Rainbow (I think - I saw Rainbow at the Rainbow theatre in London many times - although can't remember much of it as that was way back), in Sabbath (Heaven and Hell tour - that was great) and Dio on Holy Diver tour - that was great also!!! Always loved this tune.
Tiny little guy commanding a huge stage - quite brilliant.

Holy smokes.... what a rocker men....

OTD bump...total pro sound.   Dio sang on two of Kerry Livgren's tracks (a little known fact)..."The Mask of the Deceiver" and "Live For the King"..

anyway..this is a great adrenaline rush
