I get what you mean Tommy! I for one surly can go over the top from time to time.  And some of the songs I'm most pleased with are some of the older stuff I wrote and recorded in just a few hours. But then there is also something very satisfying with taking the time to really make a song shine after polishing it for days and days (I'm not as patient as Andy ).

I guess I'll continue doing both, mostly because I feel I'm on a musical journey and I'd like to see as much as possible along the way. That could be a simple rock beside the road or a reverberating wall of sound in the end of a tunnel. I love being in a time and place in the universe where I have both the means and opportunity to express myself to the best of my abilities!
