The bird sits on the window ledge and he's preaching to the world
A hundred bad dreams that have turned into one lonely scream
A thousand bad memories of one homeless guy
Who clapped his hands at winter
and found he'd made the sky cry
He watched the tears roll down the hillside
And fermented in the lake
And watched as it woke the ice maiden wide awake

There was wine left in the bottle and there's plenty of stories to be told
It's not over till the fat lady sings and youth starts believing its old
The dogs howl out in the distance
As the coal black night hides the scene
trying hard to make everyone feel like their not really missing a thing

the silence of the owl taking life away from the vole
Fills the empty void with a darkness to a story seldom told

It a sad old world we live in that is so full of fear

What a fine bit of tinkering. Much more gentle than many of your songs, but still with the trademark vocal power.

Really enjoyed listening to that.

A very cool diversion toon for you Trevor! It's a power ballad without the screaming guitars...nice. I like the whole song but the real highlight for me is your excellent and descriptive lyric along with your vocal phrasing. Very good!
