Here's the latest of all late festival submissions - my tribute to henwrench's excellent St. Miner's Prayer, (the original can be found here)

This is one of my favorite henwrench songs - I love the Americana imagery in the lyrics, the "imaginary" town names, and how well his music fit the overall theme.

I started this in February, then had to take some work travel and while there picked up a nasty case of bronchitis which did a number on my vocal cords for several weeks. So I decided to concentrate on adding stringed instruments - a veritable folk orchestra's worth of 'em, including the newest member of the family:

1920s Stromberg-Voisinet mandolin

Although it's been hectic times at work, my pipes finally got to something resembling working order (still a bit ragged for my tastes, but hopefully time heals all wounds) and I finished it up with a few extra touches today.

Hope you like it henwrench (and we miss you here, buddy).

Thanks for listening,
cuthbert

This is so good as expected!! Well executed recording and performance. Your voice sounds so soft and gentle.

I got a High Llamas feel...maybe it that comes from your mandolin.

Brilliant cover of a great song!

This is a really good cover. I like how you have kept the feel of the original even though you have changed the instrumentation.

I love it.

It is wonderful. Clearly a henwrench, but you're all over it Cuth...

The instrumentation is gobsmacking

It's a great song, one of my favourite Henny songs and was on my Henwrench shortlist in the TribfestIII.

You have a fascinating collection of instruments and I love how you deploy them all; it's a brilliant arrangement.

It's both pure Henwrench and pure Cuthbert, all at the same time.  And I loved every moment of it.
