It's dark noise, but close.

Here's the Wikipedia definition of Dark Noise:

Dark Noise is noise that is undetectable by its emitted radiation, but whose presence can be inferred from gravitational effects. It is subdivided into different types of dark noise:

Dark dark Noise
Not quite so dark, dark  noise
Quite light, dark noise
Light dark noise.

It wasn't discovered until the 1980's when by chance a broadcast engineer who was setting up a boom mic for a particularly boring politician's interview, noticed that if the mic wasn't pointing directly at the source of sound, there was a background noise which was inaudible from everywhere else.
