Yeah - I remember this song well. I really liked it, however in 79 I was a metal head, and watched a documentary about XTC, and they were talking to the guitarist who played a Marshall stack, and he said "I play quite clean, I don't want to sound like one of those horrible metal bands", which peed me off so much that I still remember it. Funny. They were an excellent band though.

This is an excellent cover, I haven't listen to this tune in years, and it evoked some memories - I was still at school and growing up fast. Thanks for posting this tune Nick, its a goodun' :-) I've thought that if you create music that moves people, then you've won!

I love this song, and I love what you've done to it. You've made it more delicate and intimate, and it really works. The percussion panning and phasering alone is wonderful, but I really dig all the synth tones you've used. You've made a highly evocative song even more evocative somehow: a slightly melancholic edge that takes me to a certain place. There's a lot of work in this and it's a beauty. Fine, fine stuff.

This is really good. So much details to take in.

Excellent cover Nick, I don't think I can add too much to what has already been said, but what I would say is that I always love the way you interpret cover songs and give them a dose of your own sound whilst at the same time still making it instantly recognisable to the original.

Love that picture by the way, it couldn't be more 70's if it tried!
