Steve Vai switched most of his necks over to this system.

Mattias is a nut. He definitely has his own thing going. I love how he depresses the bar and fades into the note witha volume pedal. Mike Landau used to do something similar.

I've wanted a neck like that for quite a while now .... Always been annoyed that a guitar is "untunable "

A guitar being 'untunable' is an artefact of the western 12 note scale. You can hear the difference in key in music, A major sounds bright and optimistic, B Flat and E Flat sound more melancholy and subdued. I like the differences in key, it seems this attempts to overcome these differences.

It should allow alternate tunings, but the keys will all sound the same with regard to colouration.

Nimrod - Elgar, Beethoven's 9th, Dvorak's New World symphony, Clair de Lune - Debussy, any of these using even temperament tunings would lose their very essence.
