I have always loved this song. It follows Get Carter on the album Dare, which is a pretty desolate track, Carter has just been shot on a wind-swept beach on the North East coast, among the industrial dumping of mining waste into the sea.

I knew these beaches as a kid, played on them; the track 'I am the Law', the preceding track and the film Get Carter with Michael Caine as Carter, black, miserable, depicting exploitation and decay, have left as indelible a mark on me as any other thing in my life.

I wish I could sing better.

I wish I had more time to pursue my interests, I wish I was more creative, I wish that people would stop exploiting others for their own personal gain and satisfaction.

In my world, I would be the Law.

Great job. I love those bass synths. The tone is very close to the original.

I love it!

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I don't think I've heard the original song before? I've seen 'Get Carter' a few times - a rather desolate film, but very engaging nonetheless. :)

Anyway, I love the Teutonic tones you're getting from your synth(s?) - what instruments did you use on this? They reinforce the cold, ruthless feel from the film very well. Is the percussion from your new piece of kit? Your vocals sound just great, and fit right into the song.

It's the new SparkLe which I'm starting to get to grips with and the SH201. Lots of filtering in the DAW and tons of reverb.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Brilliant cover, you're on a roll.

Right up my street although I'm ashamed to say I don't know the song.

I'm loving that SH-201 and that new drum machine is right on the money.

What a great place this is...

You had me at the first note. 'Dare ' changed my life, and I always liked the 'album tracks' more than the obvious singles on it - especially this and 'Seconds'.

I was waiting expectantly for that deep, bad-ass bass note to come it, and you really delivered! In fact, it has even more gusto and guts than the original.

A brilliant, perfect and loving cover. Wonderful!!!!!!!

It's just starting to sound a bit 'Digital' as I'm trying to get sounds out of it, the LFO and the associated destination control is a bit steppy, which is starting to bother me. I can see an argument for an analog synth....

Must... Resist... The ....Gas...... Attack.....

An MS20 would be fab though....
