wha? 70, what happened to the mini dressed red lipsticked teenage dream?

I saw Blondie at Glasto last year. I thought they were a bit rubbish actually, turned up, did the gig without much enthusiasm and then just buggered off. Compare that to the show that Dolly did a few days later and there was your proverbial chalk and cheese. I was a huge blondie fan, parallel lines is still one of my favourite albums, I was never a fan of Dolly's music, but she sure knows how to put on a show.

Deborah, at 69 I suppose I can let you off a bit but I did feel short-changed.

Crikey - I was a huge Blondie fan too, still know all the words to every song on Parallel Lines.

Yeah, I was surprised a few years ago when I discovered that one's "mini dressed red lipsticked teenage dream" in the late-70s/early-80s had in fact been an "older woman" at the time :D

You know what really makes me feel old, though? The new version of Poldark that started on BBC in the UK last Sunday... BUGGER ME! They're all children!!!

That must mean that when I was 15 with a poster of her on my wall, she was already 35.

It wasn't that poster, but one like it.

I must admit I'm struggling to feel any kind of resentment about it, now I look back  ;)

It was 1990 when I saw Blondie on MTV. I said, she's still sexy and beautiful to be that old woman... Now, I'm much older than she was in that time :( . Time runs...bugger...

Parallel Lines was a really good record, tho.

Was always a fan of the music, and ended up seeing Blondie perform twice over the years ('89 and '97). I'm impressed she's still going - maybe time to put her feet up!

I remember the first time I saw Blondie on Granada Reports, the local ITV news programme. Tony Wilson of Factory fame was one of the presenters and always had a new upcoming band on on Friday at the end of the programme. Think it was their first UK TV appearance. They sang 'Rip her to shreds' as I gazed on in amazement ! She must have been over 30 even then !
