Mike can't post this from work, so I'm doing the honours. It's all his hard work though - I'm just warbling over the top  

I don't know how Flash made the backer so precise and true, but it really is superb. And the real bass (like OMD) really gives it some gravity and authenticity.

The new drum machine sounds awesome!

It is a great song, isn't it.  And it's 35 years old this year.  Yikes.

And I really like this version.  Those synths and that drum machine sound lush and perfect for the song as is the bass.  And Tim you've really found your inner Andy McClusky.  The whole thing is a real treat, right up my proverbial alleyway.

Thank you Tim for posting it for me and thanks for such a fabulous vocal.

I wanted to try out the new drum machine, so this has the closest syndrum and acoustic kit sounds that I could find to the original. Not exact I know and I had to do a bit of tweaking. the rest of it is done on the Roland SH-201 and my Jazz.

However, Tim has done such a good job on the vocals that I want to revisit the backing track.

Great job on this cover. I love the original and your vocal is awesome. Listening on my phone so I can't hear any bass, I'll have to come back later to hear that baseline; love the backer though. The new gear sounds fab.
