I received a message on January 19th from orh, inquiring about TributeFest. Fifty-three pm's and almost two months later, I think this egg is ready to hatch. Thanks to orh for a transcontinental friendship, his massive musical talent, and a kick in the arse. Of course, thanks to Greeny for a fabulous song. If you're new to the forum, be sure to check out the various incarnations of his tune.

Wow. So honoured and flattered that you covered this. It's taken me a while to be ok with it being covered as it is such a personal one, but I was intruiged by where Blooby's guitar would take it when he recently raised the idea of a live cover. I love how it feels so familiar yet different - a very fresh twist. Some incredible guitar work, and I love how it goes between 'big' and quiet; makes for an interesting journey. Especially liked the 'we're on a high wire' parts - majestically done. ORH sang the backing vox on the original, so it's entirely appropriate that he took on the rest. You made it your own, James. And we all know what the Bloobster can do with a guitar! Such a fine job that goes way beyond a simple copy. Thankyou my friends.

Flash Harry

Oh wow guys!

Bruce - the guitars are fabulous achingly gorgeous, soaring and beautiful, the organ tone is the only one you could have chosen, it's made for the track. I don't know how you did the drums - I'm intrigued. Lovely lovely layering, and great production.

James - your authentic voice, your Scottish accent, makes such an honest and personal vocal. I don't think I have heard you sing better than this.

Superb guys. I knew that tlhis song was special to Tim, I'm glad it has his approval. I'm glad you did it.

Magic, all three of you are just magic.

i knew this song was very personal for Tim, but knowing this song so well, even filming the man himself sing it live on the steps of King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, it became a song that resonated with me too. i tried to relate to the words in my own personal way, and the words are so profound to me, i am sure my interpretation of what the lyric might mean is a barnyard mile away from Tim's own interpretation.

anyway first off, aside from thanking Tim for writing a corker of a song, i would like to thank Blooby for bearing with me  and going with the flow, we did go on many twists and turns i think this is version 8. we stopped before developing severe bosckoschwartzisis.

i'm lying i just sent blooby another mix lol.

i also have a wee dream, there is a possibility that Jemima's Kite (greeny, me, flash harry, geir and jarle) may get together again sometime in the not to distant future (fingers crossed) and perhaps even gig. my wee dream is we do this live at a gig as  a Jemima's Kite song. on that occasion if it happens, i would love to be lead vocalist, but would have no problem being on backing vocals and tambourine.

again Tim thanks for the song. and Blooby thanks for being a fantastic musician and all round (or should that be oval) guid egg.

Wow - you guys really knocked it out of the park!

I'm in awe of the fluid and acrobatic guitars, the extra dimension the organ adds to the soundscape (and those live-sounding drums, too), and really digging the special vocal treatment. Bruce & James - your musicianship and singing are of the highest order, and you've created a great tribute for a great Songcrafter.

Well done, gents.
