This is the song I had been preparing for the Ronnie Lane Tribute - too bad no-one voted for it  :-)

Its called Debris.

The Faces recorded it and Ronnie sang lead vox, with Rod Stewart doing backing vox. As you will remember, Ronnie Wood was the guitar player, before he was spoiled by the Rolling Stones.

I did the Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar in one take (LITLR) and added some backing vocals, a couple of guitar solos and fills.  All the guitar is my Cole Clark acoustic via the vocals mic and also straight into the BR800. I put it through a compressor and a distortion pedal for the solos and fills.

I recorded it all on the BR800 and mixed and mastered in Sonar.  It was all done in about 90 minutes, so still a bit around the edges.

Edit: New mix now loaded. You may not hear a lot difference but this mix fixes some of the drop-out caused by running too many effects in the mix (and my old laptop not being able to keep up).

cheers,

Ian

I enjoyed that Ian, some very nice guitar playing.  Is it drop-D?  And everything is recorded well and sounds good.  Love the tones on those guitar tracks.

Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you enjoyed it. This has been a favourite song of mine for 40 years.

However, I did the recording really quickly and committed a rookie mistake - I did the whole project using headphones.  When I listened to it via monitors, I found a few errors, so I'll play with the mix a bit more to smooth it out.

cheers,

Ian
