I's really wonderful to listen to. Your voice is amazing as always.
QuoteI had to capo up to the 9th fret! It's starting to sound like a uke lol...
9th fret ..hmmm ... yeah that's about where it's getting a bit crowded.
Uke ... yes ... and a 12stringer begins to act like a mandolin!!

Great work ... straight to the iPod ..

Quote from: Kody on April 03, 2009, 01:27:16 PMHey guys~ Just got my cheap sony mic from Ebay~ $4.99 + Free Shipping! I think it's a step up from the onboard~not to bash the onboard by any means~
Snap mine arrived today :)
I think mine is faulty cos it sounds nothing like yours (it can't be anything to do with my voice) ;D ;D ;D ;D

Seriously it sounds great!...but that's got a lot to do with the input! 8)

48, make sure you go to the utility menu and turn on the Plug- in Power~  ;) Took me awhile to figure that out 8)

Excellent as usual! :)

I was so impressed with your recording, that I felt the urge to buy a Sony ECM-DS70P at £3.99 from E-bay. I have a sneaky suspicion that it's going to be a fake. Was looking on a few dealer sites, and they are around £50 new in the UK.

???

Not to worry though, the quality sounds crystal clear on your recording which must be a good sign as to the quality of the item, and at £3.99 I hardly feel swindled......

Love the guitar and vocals. They sound emotional, yet polished. Perfection as always!

Thank you guys so much! ksauers, I'm actually doing the same thing you're doing~I gave up the band thing to be a better father too~ much more rewarding...but, I am going to be playing some solo shows this summer to make some extra money. I've found this forum to be my favorite stage I've ever been on to date~ You guys are so cool~ and from everywhere! I can't thank you enough...

Hewhoiscalledj, I tried what you suggested.  The only way I could think of adding compression to an already recorded vocal track was to master just the vocal track and use the soft comp preset (tweaked a little) Then I came back and bounced it with the guitar track...(so the guitar doesn't have any thing on it besides reverb) It was funny listening to the vocal track alone~See, I was wearing a wind-breaker, so any little move I made was shsh ssshhhh lol! I brought the vocals up a bit more, and reduced the reverb on them touch...Then I put in Audacity to trim the noise at the beginning... So here's what I have now...

I ordered one too, and it arrived yesterday.  I just doesn't work at all, so it's good to know that others here have had better luck.

We'll wee how their customer support handles it.

Update: Thanks to Kody, who suggested I try Plugin Power.  The mic works fine.

Hey Ted.....did you turn the PlugInPower on??
I made that mistake at first. You need to press Utility then two cursor clicks to the right then hit the plus button. If you haven't done this you'll get nothing.
Just a roadie again.....

Kody, you have a great voice.  Thank thank you for sharing your recording and mixing methods.  I find vocals to be the most difficult part of recording new songs.

Hellfireandbrimstone!! What a vocal! I hope some big timers hear you sing sometime and slap you with some sort of opportunity. That mic sounds better than our 990's?!?! Nice work, man. Quite inspiring..."tall grass waving in the wind."

Not gonna ramble on here...got some vulgar pee to get rid of.
