Where did they all go?

There are a few people who disappear for one reason or another for a few months and then return. I have been lurking rather than posting for about 9 months because of life events.  150 people isn't a bad number, we could muster a decent band that would be a world beater!

I'm sensing a collaborative kazoo fest on the horizon.

Quote from: IanR on March 05, 2015, 12:53:50 AMOtherwise, I'm surprised that we have as many as 150 regular members. I seem to notice the same 20-30 regular contributors but the stats are the stats.

I'm a bit surprised by 150 regular members, too.  The number of votes cast for a festival is usually around 25 per, give or take, which tallies with Ian's 20-30 estimate.

It's tempting to want the group to be bigger but what if like a hundred dubsteppy youngsters joined and were very active in posting and collaborating and talking about those genres.  The balance would be upset, I'd be gone and there'd be another hole in my life.

I launched several members on a mission to the Sun.
I told them to land at night so they wouldn't get burned.

Statistics can be a bit misleading. The numbers I posted earlier represent the number of members who have logged-in to their account in the past 90 days and have posted 6 or more messages since they joined. I suspect that many of them have posted nothing in the past 90 days -- all of their 6 or more posts were made a long time ago. It would have been more meaningful to only include members who have posted in the past 90 days but that would have required a trickier database query and I couldn't be bothered.

So I agree that the number of regular members is probably better reflected by the number of votes in the polls. Although, not everyone votes, so I'd guesstimate that we have around 40 to 50 regular members.

Here are the total number of votes for the last 8 polls.

I wish we could get more people to vote. Remember folks, even if you don't plan to participate in the festivals, you can still vote for the festival that you think would be most interesting to listen to.

I was always curious about this and I think the answer to the regular people that are on here is all of the people that commented on Facemask Rob's passing. I'm sure a few may have missed it but not too many.

Flash, what is this GlitchHop stuff? I'm not familiar with the name.
Is it edible? Can we have sex with it? Or use it for a rectal suppository?
