Piano, vocals, Precision Bass and MBR beats. Middle of the night spontaneous meanderings.

It has a bit of hiss on it - not sure why, but I recorded the piano through a line-in cable to stereo tracks.

And I'm still not great on the old Joanna! So it's simple stuff: a mere two chords (C and F). Seems to go further on piano though.

Lyrics:

Be the mattress for this jester
For this human cannonball
Raining under your umbrella
With no safety net at all

And when I'm falling
Let me fall into your arms

We're all subject to the laws of gravity
They bring us down – they bring us to our knees
And when I'm falling
I want to fall into your arms

We shower down like meteorites
Red ashes in the dark
Looking for the kindling
To hold and keep our spark
And when I'm falling
I want to fall into your arms

From the chords of Laurel Canyon
To the tin drums of Japan
Let me be a polaroid
Appearing in your hand
And when I'm falling
Let me fall into your arms

We're all subject to the laws of gravity
They bring us down – they bring us to our knees
And when I'm falling
I want to fall into your arms

We shower down like meteorites
Red ashes in the dark
Looking for the kindling
To hold and keep our spark
And when I'm falling
I want to fall into your arms

Nice one Tim

I like that you are pushing out of the old comfort zone and trying new things.

I think you have pulled it off. The simplicity of the song gives it a lot of sincerity, especially as the lyrics are so well written and meaningful.

Thanks for sharing.

Oh well ........

Must admit I was waiting for the Phil Collins / Something in the Air drum break into the big middle but it never came and I'm glad it didn't; as Ian says, the simplicity gives it sincerity.

Another great Greeny Monday song, still pleased they're back.

Great writing Tim. Had to chuckle tho..only us old timers probably even know what the hell a polaroid is these days!

Traveling new roads with this one and traveling them well.

Lovely stuff, very well sung and the simplicity is just great. The simple piano backing is actually perfect for the song, but you vocals and lyrics are superb.
