Kenny's been very diligent in the Tributefest and I wanted to return the compliment of his covering one of my songs.

Going through Kenny's back catalogue, this song stood out to me.  Initially because it put me in mind of second-album Soft Cell (my version is nothing like Soft Cell, turns out).  Also because of the excellent story telling and lyric (any song where the second line is 'she was playing with the pink balloon' has got to be worth a go).

Here's where the original lives;

The guitar solo is a little hurried and horrid, but you've got to stop somewhere.

Anyway.  Kenny - I hope you enjoy

This is FABULOUS. So much lovely attention to detail, and the opening / reprise piano parts are so atmospheric. Gives me a bit of a New Order vibe for some reason. Anyway, it's bloody amazing.

Tangled Wires

My word, this is so very good, the piano motifs throughout are wonderful, as is the electronica backdrop

The way you dropped it down around to the piano at 3.00 and brought in the orchestral parts was a really nice refrain, I am assuming it is all GB?

The guitar solo wasn't horrid at all, I liked the industrial and grubby sound of it very much and it blended in perfectly.

Excellent Nick and thanks for bringing a previously unknown Kenny Mac gem back into the limelight, and well done Kenny for another top song.
