How right you are Chip, I think I was left behind in the 20th century. A few years ago I bought the Mixcraft DAW and spent so long trying to get everything set up properly (latency etc) I was spending hardly any time playing, which is why I got the BR and found it easier than a DAW.  As I said before you really have to keep using it or you quickly get out of touch.

Too right. I will never use a DAW, I have no interest in computers in general and certainly not for recording music. I can imagine it must take a considerable amount of time, patience to do anything. If I could I would go back to analogue at the drop of a hat, but , I ain't got enough room, it would cost too much cash and the wife would kick me out.

I took a couple of songs I recorded on the 1200 down to my mates house today. We listened to them on his very, very expensive Hi Fi system and blow me they sounded real good, even he thought they were good and he's a stickler for production. I am quite pleased about it all. The thing is I wouldn't have been able to do any of it without the help of the people on here. Thanks.

To me the secret was recording the guitars using microphone and valve amps instead of going straight to the BR, it makes a world of difference. I try and remove as much of the digital as possible, hence my massive clear out of all modelling amps and guitars. Now it's just amps, guitars, mics, compression pedal, B9 organ machine, no other pedals needed. I can get all the dirt I want through the amp at a very sensible level. I do use the effects on the BR though, I turn off amps, compression and other stuff I don't want.
Sweet young thing aint sweet no more.

I have not tried recording with a mike yet because the results with my amp sim and effects pedal have been quite pleasing. Don't know what my wife would say if I started buying more gear so maybe I should leave well alone for the time being. By the way I'm making notes on the relevant pages of the manual to help me remember  ::)
