Beautiful song borne of sad circumstance. Despair can be such a strong creative spark, and out of it sometimes comes something as powerful and moving as this.

The vocal cuts real deep and the slight pauses just add to the poignancy, and there is nobody better at sending a song up a gear or two with purely an increase in vocal intensity. It almost sounds at times as if you were finding the words on the spot, it is incredibly moving.

I wish you well, that old black dog is a bugger to get to lie down
