Interesting guitar lesson from Guthrie

Thanks for posting this video up Bruno! This is one of the best if not the most informative lesson I have ever viewed on using notes and scales. I've always thought you could play most any note during a run on a guitar as long as you don't stay on them too long and the beginning/ending notes (plus a few in the middle) land within the chord. I'm not familiar with this guy but he is a fantastic player/ teacher and he just validated what I thought. I wish I had his technical ability on the fret board, which I don't, but I can certainly use some of the things I just saw him do. For one thing I need to get me one of those string dampeners. I have a tapping lead melody I've been trying to put to a song for years but I can never play it cleanly enough to keep the other strings from ringing and ruining the sound. I think with a dampener I can do it so I'm going to find me one.

Thanks a million for putting up this very educational video! It's popped on a little light in my head. Now all I need is hours of practice. Even old dogs can learn new tricks!

currently watching this video but the first two minutes are the most sensible things i've ever heard about guitar playing.

i should add i cannea play guitar for toffee but i love hearing guitars played well.

and just to confirm how bad a guitarist i am. i have just written a new song but for the life of me i can't play it all the way through in one go. my fingers are agony with trying. oh well watch this space.
