One of my musical luminaries from my youth and without Steve and the Blitz club there may not have been Dave's d Bowie's Scary Monsters album (arguably).

Right now I'm sat in my place of work only a couple of miles from where he was born.

I'm still a bit shocked by it. The passing of time seems to be speeding up as I get older.

I still really like the first Visage album, and it's the only album I've owned in every single format having recently acquired it on vinyl. It's always been an influence on me. Visage owed more to Midge that Steve, but he was a great front man. And the first song in the first (synth) band I joined was a cover of Fade to Grey. I was the singer and really struggled with the French parts. Happy days. I thought I was going to be something back then.

Sleep well, Mr Strange.
