but of course it requires Kontakt. More in general, since I use often VSTinstruments, I can suggest Kontakt as a basis, adding the instruments you need in function of the song/tune. Rather expensive, I know, but if you want really TRUE sounds, this is the way.

VSTs are the way to go with Windows. You could try a DAW which is a fancier sequencer, Reaper is free to try and you can continue to use it past the trial period if you don't mind the nag screen, there are some free synths in Reaper and there are some here too.
