Battles
Jarle's song reworked

Piano, drums, rock organ, lead synth: GarageBand
Hammered Dulcimer, Soundscapes under final part (3): Alchemy
Guitar: Tokai Breezysound:

I love Jarle's original (Battles).  It's a big track and there's a lot going on.

I wanted to get inside it to understand how it all works, so I took it all apart  and laid it out on the kitchen floor, like a motorbike engine.  Then I made a scale model of it as best I could.

Hope it passes muster

There is a lot going on, and makes for a very interesting listen. Kind of early prog rock to my ears, but a most enjoyable listen.

what an epic listen this turned into.....the time involved to do this.....I can't even imagine the time required........... its as clear as a mountain stream, fresh as an early morning walk in spring meadow....I am trying to describe the feeling I get listening to this.......awe, joy, satisfaction......delight.......A very excellent cover of Jarle's very excellent Prog masterwork......great flipping job man.  Delightful.

Effin hell Nick, what a monster song to take on.

Saw this posted up, so have just had ten minutes or so giving Jarle's original a few spins, and come away with the thought that you must be mad to even attempt this!

What has transpired here is a stroke of genius on your part, and what a stunning interpretation this is, very faithful to the original and it's almost as if you have channelled a bit of Jarle into your vocal too.

Not an obvious choice of a Tribute song, due to the complexity of the original, but that kind of makes it all the better and I bet Jarle will be thrilled when he hears this.

ACE!!!

WOW...

What can I say. I am thrilled to hear this. I love what you have done. The way you have changed the timesignature at the beginning to 7/8 is brilliant. Love the ending.

Thank you.

You made my day.

Outstanding job here Nick, truly an amazing cover of an amazing tune. Not sure how rationalized this huge feat but so glad you did.
