This started as a paraprosdokian exercise.
IOW wordplay where the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected in a way that causes the reader or listener to reframe or reinterpret an earlier part.
EG Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana.
This suggested more of a country song.

Love the concept behind the lyrics, very clever. Great song, well executed and I particularly liked the bass work, really plays off against the guitars nicely. Very balanced recording as well, nice work all round.
