This is for you Robert !!!

(I'm filling in for Mike on the bass as he's off skiing or something like that .... a new mix may appear when he's back)

Robert We're Still Listening
Well we never got to see you
or meet you in the flesh
but we'll take some time to treasure
all the little things in life
try to recognise
the things that really matter
try to recognise
just what's important
Robert, we're still listening
Robert, we're still listening
The voice of an angel
that stood out from the crowd
we could feel a kindness
in every chord he struck
and yes it was a privilege
to say that I know you

This is an excellent tribute to our passed friend Robbie Burns.........I can hear and feel the emotion that went into this creation in honor of a true friend and musician. Geir, ORH, Greeny and Jarle, you all have put your best forward and it shows with the professional production. This is a great way to remember a friend.......

Hearing this develop over the last few days has been awesome, yesterday it was a "no bad" song, but Geir, your additions have taken this one to another level.

It's just a shame that Mike (Flash Harry) is out of the loop just now and unable to contribute. Hopefully that will be remedied on his return.

Sadness can be a wonderful creative spark, and you guys have really tapped into this with a wonderfully poignant and fitting song.

Has shades of a Pink Floyd sound to my ears, and the simple chorus carries so much weight and will touch a nerve with all of us privileged to have been an audience to Rob's wonderful music on Songcrafters over the years

A K

Jim was kind enough to let me hear how this song was built up over the last few days.
So I will start at the beginning.

Tim created a soulful folk-rock guitar tune, which set the mood and intimate feel of the song.
His free-picking, crisp sound and amazing chord changes are wonderful. Robbie would have loved this.

Well, next came Jim. I don't know how he instantaneously creates lyrics. I think he just listens to his heart.
When I played the song to my wife, and later that day to my daughter, he had them in tears.
(Does he always have this effect on women?).

Jarle added deliciously delicate drum rolls to take you through to the next song passages,
with percussion fills popping up here and there.
Plus the "farewell" cymbal at the end.

What can I say about Geir. I swear his guitar solos would make Eric Clapton turn his head.
That screaming, heart-wrenching bending and wailing of the strings.

I know the bass maestro is away at the moment.
I am sure that he will want to add that final ingredient to round off the essence that is "Jemima's Kite".

You have done a wonderful tribute.
Robbie is still listening.
