Second attempt at recording something.

Different style this time, dont know which one though.

My friend Terry likes to sing.  We mess around with guitars and amps and Mic effects when we get the chance. He provides the vocals for this one.

We scribbled down a tune, (Chorus/That's about all) and improvised the song from start to finish, feeding the BR through a Line 6 amp. It's not a bad little tool for live stuff.....

First off, we tried to write the tune as an acoustic number. Then we heard a drum pattern on the BR and this soon changed it into something more upbeat.

Took LG's advice and just went with what we were doing. Also discovering what sustain can do for a sound.

Had fun making this one. Still getting to grips with mastering the tracks and getting the levels right, so any tips would be great.

Also, is there any way of changing the effect on a track after it has been recorded?

Thanks for all the advice on the last post.  :)

What a great forum!

To be pleased with one's limits is a wretched state.

This is really Cool! I really like it, it is certainly a twist from
the other recording.
I am goint to put it on my mp3 player to listen to it more.
I love the vocal... kind of a distant reverby sound to it...
Gives it a dreamy sound.
Keep 'em coming.

My God this is fun, isn't it?

Afraid not  :(  unless you record without any effects and just add effect as you bounse to another track. You'll find instuctions in the manual and probably somewhere here on this site to.

This is actually pretty cool....I really like it man.  Your friend does an awesome job of not only creating a nice melody, but he sings it wonderfully.  I like that rap style~ He was flowin'~ that's a first for me~ hearing that on this website.  You guys should keep plugging away~ I see alot of potential here~ Very good 8)

Nice work guys. I'm guessing you like the Red Hot Chili Peppers a lot. This could be one of theirs  ;)

You should work on this one production-wise, because it has a lot going for it. Great performances and songwriting. Hone it and love it and post it!  :)

I cant remember where but I think its in the input screen. You can assign the effects to rec dry even though you can still hear them while tracking. I think its input and then you use the left/right buttons to get to the effect assign screen. could be wrong tho.

found this in the effect forum...

QuotePress EFFECTS

Cursor Right, you should see LOC

press TR1, this will show you the default for where the effects will be applied LOCATION INPUT(NORMAL),
Press the plus button, this will change the LOCATION to INPUT(REC DRY)

you can later change whatever effect you want to use by changing the location to your recorded track.

Really liked this  8) as Kody said the rap effect was great....I understand the vibe with the soft reverb vocals but I think they are excellent and could be a bit clearer in the mix

That was so cool,  what a great team,  hope to hear a  lot more from you guys.

As I said before in previous posts, any critique from you guys is worth it's weight in gold!

Greeny often points out, This forum is probably the most supportive atmosphere around. . . .! The Carling of forums ( "British" beer reference... Don't know if you have it in the States or else where). If it wasn't as it was, I Probably would not be here posting unfinished work with such poise, with the confidence that I will receive constructive input rather than be shot down in flames.

There is experience on this site which dates back to when most classic guitars were constructed, as well as that which is held by  some of the most talented individuals ever to weald the instrument! With this said, the advice is posted in the most altruistic fashion, with little heed to ego or pride.   ;D

Thank you all! ;)

I love this place.

I'll get cracking with another go, and thanks for the pointers......

Regards

T (Osckilo)

P.S......

Terry says thanks for the support, and as do I! You have boosted our confidence considerably. :D

And Kody......Terry wants to sing like you!

Lg.... Thanks for the Mp3 download.

Davo....Like your von Goethe quote/sig about limits........
