I just read he died of lung cancer. I didn't realize he was ill at all, I'm sad to admit.

One of my favorite singers. His early stuff definitely spoke to me. He really knew how to choose a song and make it is own. I didn't know he was ill either. Was just listening to his boxed set the other day as well. This news really bummed me out.

This is very sad news. My first rock film experience was Mad dogs... at age nine. I had a great admiration for J.C. from that time on. Vale..
