Song created & recorded entirely this week and building on some of the themes in the Monkey-fest.  Here is a contemplation of our primitive tendency to religion.

The file is too big for upload, hence alonetone link.

Thin veneer civilisation
 Placed upon my ape
Flimsy film sophistication
 on my head is drape
Can I hide realisation
 shame amid the sham
Fear fight flight frustration
 Primal beast I am

Apart an apt alliteration
 grumble and we grunt
Tribal rival revelation
 take it to confront
Other tribe deification
 heresy extant
Here is now my obligation
 see them to recant

Venerate my validation
 justify my just
Expidite my explanation
 Mitigate my must
In my like my god's creation
 'xplain the world ascend
Authodox authorisation
 to the death defend

From the skies the expectation
 written in the stone
Come the tale of devestation
 fleeing flying flown
Forty days for my temptation
 Proving of the worth
seeing sign of sin salvation
 'heriting the earth

We look to the skies

Deep and thought provoking. Loved the minimalist instrumention to back up your lyrical delivery.

I love the way this song doesn't build up. You kept the mood all through. Fabulous lyrics.

I, too, liked the organ. I really liked the backing vox: the melody and the space it creates was good. A deceptively relaxed introspection.
