On the corner by the Opera
A girl with a balloon
Licks her cherry ice-cream
and gaze up at the moon

Her father points his long arms
To a poster across the street
A pirate with a guitar
Ball & Chains around his feet

A barrel organ spins
a crazed melody
The hair on his back
rise to the manic sounds

In the Valley of the echoes
The monkey and the clown
have a creeping feeling something's wrong
wrong side of the track
don't know their way back
don't know their way

And as the crazy tune
sounds off in the dark
the light from a bonfire
shows a hidden mark

A manic silence hits
the air when they return
a long lost family member
climbs down from a chestnut tree
