Ok ... a quick update (2014-11-13):

Pushing my iPad 3 to it's limits with this one. 15 tracks (most of them stereo). Multiple insert effects and automation used.

The Monkey sings 'Ken Lee'

Auria used for recording/mixing
Laplace, iProphet, iSEM, iMini synth apps
Impaktor percussion
Telecaster via iRig into Bias (rhythm) and Amplitube (lead) guitar-amps
Built in iPad mic for vocals
"Audio Mastering" app for the mastering
Audio-clips from "The big C" added in Audacity.
 

Alone in his room
the monkey reaches for his flask
A south-west on his head
a banjo on his bead
dreaming of years long gone,
dreading the years to come
the monkey falls back and sings "Ken Lee"

A long way from home
the monkey sees a well known face
A smile that he used to know
where did all those years go
drifting in outer space
loosing the only place
where the the monkey could fall back and sings "Ken Lee"

Can I use the word "trippy" as well?  Seems about the best one, although mind-f#ckingly awsome would probably do just as well.

The monkey is bringing out the experimental. Very cool track Geir, some crazy sounds in there. NB this will trigger GAS and a new iPad, you need more tracks - where is that more button .....
