had a wonderful 5 days in Krakow. a beautiful city indeed. spent a lot of our time in the Kazimierz district. at one  point in a restaurant a double act of a girl singer and a guy playing guitar, heard me singing along, i was at a table nearby.  so during their break i had a chat with the guitarist, complimenting him on his amazing playing. when they restarted he said much to my surprise "jim from scotland is gonna give us a song" handed me the mic and said sing anything, so i broke into "heartbreak hotel to which he immediately honed into the key i was in a accompanied me on guitar. it went down very well  ;D ;D ;D ;D even tho i was very very drunk on hazelnut vodka and ice.

anyway i digress back to this song, i was messing about with a drum track and added guitars and laid down  drums and two guitar tracks before the taxi came to begin the journey to poland. when i got home i wrote a lyric part factual part imagined but all inspired by memories of krakow. i then added some bass guitar and loads of stuff from my juno di. to such an extent that the original guitar and drums are barely audible.

anyway i hope you like it.

singing heartbreak hotel in a polish bar
hey i'm singing hallelujah tae the moon n the stars
walking down these cobbled streets
in the sun and rain
now it's like a different place
to the one we see in day
i'm singing hallelujah in a polish bar
to the moon and the stars
since my baby left me
i've found a new song to sing
i'm singing heartbreak hotel
i'm singing sweet hallelujah
to the moon
well don't ye know it
we've all been here before
to drunk to remember
so let's all drink some more
and drown our sorrows
with laughter and song
try and remember the words
to heartbreak hotel
well since ma baby left me
in a polish bar
i'm singing hallelujah at the moon and the stars
these streets are full of memories
these streets are paved with pain and hope
these streets are full of people singing
to the moon
