Goodbye John.  Recording this took on extra significance and became my farewell to John Peel.  And as my bowing out to the festival which has been quite special for me.  Thanks to everyone who voted for it and has participated.

The original is a very stripped out guitar and vocal track.  I didn't go that route.

Great tribute, great song. A brilliant arrangement - sounds full and sumptuous. Fine work, and a quality finale to your Festsploits (I just made that word up, but it fits...!).

Wow, I haven't heard this in a looooooong time.
Really like your version.
Keyboards sound great & vocals are very apt.

I was a Monochrome Set fan back in the day, especially their 'Eligible Bachelors' album - heck, I still am for that matter.

This is a great cover, and a fine tribute to John Peel - faithful to the feel of the original song, and nice little touches that hold your interest. Love those strings at the end. Splendid job, Nick - I really enjoyed listening.
