I wrote these lyrics right at the beginning of the fest thinking they weren't finished & found them the other day and liked them as is. I wrote the music & recorded this this morning on the 008. I plugged the uke direct & used one on board mic to catch the vocal,LITLR.

Pick A Fight
written & performed by Hook
I'm at war with the world
I'm at war with you
I'm at war with myself
It's just what I do
I'm at war with the past
I'm at war with today
And I'm sure tomorrow
I'll pick a fight with somebody

I plan these battles and strategize
I make each move thousands of times
I debate and argue and criticize
Always in the confines of my warped and broken mind

Because the Hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back
On that you can rely

That's a really cool song. I jolly tune, with some serious-arse lyrics. I really like the low key vocals as well, that works really well on this - throwing the listener off balance. Great stuff brother.

Really like this. The vocal feels very intimate and sits so nicely with the uke. Great playing and dynamics, and I love how the uke carries both the melody and the rhythm with ease. Cool!

War War War... what is it good for?

I find the mind to be a cool place to hang out but it can turn hell-acious when I'm wondering the dark side and unable to find my way out.  :)

Hey your strumming is sort of percussive, eh?

I've been trying to get a handle on the strum and slap thing I hear folks doing with acoustic guitar.
Its not as easy as it seems... for me anyway.

Do you play your Uke when you gig?
