Some great music here, glad I come across this post. Videos are cool.

I'd really like to hear that punk song Redler, I bet it's really quite cool!

I was in a shot lived band in the late 80s, we did a few gigs before imploding.

We were raw and all over the place when we played (I've not really changed!). When I asked the drummer sometime later after he joined the band what his initial impression of the bands sound was, he said we reminded him of a movie he had seen about a noise that came out of nature and killed people...I though yeah, that hits the nail on the head!

We mellowed to some extent by the time we played the gig where this song was recorded badly on some junky old tape recorder, I have the full tape and its bad but hey we had a good time playing the music.

This was actually my last "band", the "Bagmen". I guess it was around 1989. We disbanded before we ever played a gig. We used to practice in this old farmhouse that was said to be haunted. After the noise we made there weekly, i think any ghosts ran for their lives. All that ever came from it was that we did record three songs..one the keyboard player wrote, one from the bass player, and one of mine. It was recorded live in another drummers studio (a far better drummer, the best i have ever known personally) It was a one take live recording. 15 years after that, i decided to use the one i wrote, "Cosmic Train", in an experimental video. It was around Halloween and the song is a bit spooky as well. Anyway, her 'tis. Me on guitar and vocals, Jim on parrot vox and keys, John on bass, Bill on drums and engineering. Hope you enjoy it!

I loving these old band songs, keep 'em coming. I think only people who have been in bands would 'get' the passion that went into making these :-)

Here's a picture of the JMZ Band I was in for many years. We formed in 1976 and disbanded for the 2nd and final time in 2011. We had a few band name and member changes (mainly drummers and bass players) through out the years but the three core members (all vocalists and guitarists) remained the same, which are/were Farrell Jackson, Dave Mercer, and Steve Zakel. We we're a top forty band which meant our song list was what ever was popular at the time. You name it we played it...even disco, ouch! About 1995 we just went back to the songs and style we liked which was classic rock and acoustic music that allowed us to focus on our vocals. At that time we decided to call ourselves The Jackson Mercer Zakel Band and then shortened it to The JMZ Band. Since we all played guitar and a bass was needed in some songs, we would trade off the bass duties between the three of us. On the gigs that called for a full band we had guest drummers and a percussionist sit in with us. It was a lot of fun years and luckily our wives and families put up with our craziness.
