i have had a few senior moments lately.

i had actually recorded the two guitar parts before i went to work today, but when i got home the tracks where blank  ???

earlier recording was near perfect, after various attempts this evening this was a close as i could get, so bum notes aplenty.

might add more to this. but for now  it's just bass and electro acoustic and vox.

a can't remember
i've no memory
your name is lost to me
a ken yer face
i've seen it somewhere
och a mind ye fondly
a think
so much has gone
so much has passed
no room to store it all
the sands of time
fine particles
too small to hold onto
in a forget
the smallest things
words a once knew
evaporate
in a forget
so many things
have a told you this before
a just don't know
what i'm doing here
why i walked
into this room
a just don't know
what i'm looking for
a wish someone would give me a shake
so much has gone
so much has passed
no room to store it all
the sands of time
fine particles
too small to hold onto
in a forget
the smallest things
words a once knew
evaporate
in a forget
so many things

Very sad song James. Having worked in nursing homes and seen so many dementia and alzheimers patients it hits home...at least regarding the folks that are into it early on...when they realize they are sliding and there seems to be no stopping it. Eventually it seems they stop worrying or caring. I think you summed it all up well and vocally shared the depression and fear. Well done.

Your song hit close to home as I have a family member with dementia. It conveys some powerful emotions.

Song was written from my own perspective tho I do too have first hand experience of alzheimers in family members and friends. I am hoping my own personal senior moments are down to poor sleeping patterns as a result of shift work. Following nightshifts and sleepovers I am thingy (I can't think of the word right now I am just finishing a sleepover shift where I got no sleep whatsoever).
