I dig this too !!

Love the arrangement with the snake charmer and the almost sitar-like animoog (I guess) sounds. The whole east meets west feel of it really appeals to me!

Your new album is gonna be FAB !!!!!

Shit hot

I love how lots of people are starting to expand into using more electronic instruments.  They are really easy to access and use and they provide a greater palette for us to infuse into our songs.

I love it.

cheers,

Ian

My thoughts entirely, if someone had told me a while back that I would be getting into a folk song I wouldn't have believed them. Genres are irrelevant when it comes to determining whether a song has that something special that makes it stands out from the pack, and this along with some of your recent posts fall into this category.

I think all has been said about each and every part of this song, so many wonderful ingredients that make up that excellent end product.

The shortness of the song is a tease...it leaves you wanting much much more of it's goodness!

Back for yet another listen and a download. This song has been in and out of my head all week. That snake charmer thing is spooky as is the subject matter. I absolutely love the bass lines in this. I've always been fascinated by medieval times and love to read about them...which is probably alot more fun than having lived in them. Maybe i did in a past life..who knows? Bang up job on this very creative and original tune Mr Greeny!

Dark folk, it makes you look around warily.

Love the mix of the acoustic and the electronic Tim, this is fantastic.

Funny you should say that, because the imagery of the plague graves comes from an incident where I was under hypnosis and could 'see' the medieval carts carrying the black death victims in the village I come from. I don't believe in any gods, spooks or supernatural things, but my mind tricked itself into some kind of past life regression - a very vivid feeling of 'being there'. And there were plague graves on the common I'm referring to. Maybe some of my ancestors.

Another brilliant composition and arrangement Tim.
Love the vocal arrangement and mix. (harmonies)
A creative write indeed...... just love your approach to the subject matter... pure poetry.

I find myself in this state quite often when I write. It allows me to feel what the character is feeling as apposed to writing what I think the character should be feeling. Create the environment... then step inside... and see what happens.

It's cool to see you getting to where you want to be musically / stylistically... here and "Darkmere".

I too am drawn to folk music, not really sure why but I'm beginning to think it's because of it simplicity. You don't have to be GREAT at playing or singing... often a bit of honesty and authenticity in your storytelling and delivery, is all that's required to pull off something special.

You do have a knack for all of that... plus the added bonus of being able to PLAY and SING your arse off.
