Composed on a Uke (probably not standard tuning, 'cause I don't know what that is on a uke!), with bass, Animoog synth, vocals, and some Thumbjam 'snake charmer' sound. All written, recorded and mixed on the MBR whilst Downton Abbey was on  :D

It's a bit weird / dark, and clocks in at 2:24.

'The Dark Folk' ....

The hedgerows and fields
Are like blotting paper
That soak up the shadows –
Black communion wafers
For the dark folk... for the dark folk

Place the graves
Place the graves
Place the plague pits there

On the common
On the common
Where the trees stand bare

Bring in the straw
For the beasts are a ' birthing
And steady the lamp
As the shadows come circling
For the dark folk... for the dark folk

Place the graves
Place the graves
Place the plague pits there

On the common
On the common
Where the trees stand bare

A will-o-the-wisp ignites then dissolves
As the bitter rain falls
From a sky full of holes
For the dark folk

Magnificent dark folk song with subtle strange sounds!
A "classic feeling" for the first listen... first class song, for sure

The great bass leapt out at me. The whole middle eastern vibe is a draw. Fantastic production as well.

Great post.

I like the way the lyrics are arranged in making this like a folk song or like describing parts of a myth through song. Very interesting/mysterious music to fit as well.

Redler

Dark and unreal/psychedelic feel here!! I can hear some Indian flavors, too! Damn cool instrumentation and producing! Onto expanding Greeny folder of my mp3 player! Brilliant work!

I really like the direction you're going with your music, Tim.  I'm loving all the folk and world influences you bring.

Sometimes you have to stop and think "d'you know, this is a really great song".  This is one of those moments
Overdrive - Distortion - Hyperactivity
Yesterdays shatter, tomorrows don't matter

Absolutely loved this Tim. It's a folky, psychedlic magic carpet ride not only to other lands but a time travel as well. The imagery that your lyrics evoke is incredible. A swirling concoction of musical sounds and tones that weave a web of mystery and other worldly visions. Cool bass line and uke work. Your talents have no boundaries. Excellent post!!
