I was fiddling about with the Dorian chords and accidently played the wrong chord at one point that I thought sounded good. It evolved into this cheesy pop song. Despite the cheesiness, I'm really pleased with it! It could be the best song I've done so far. What do you guys think? Oh, and wouldn't it be better if it was sung by someone who can sing! I wrote the cheesy lyrics in a about 4 minutes flat....

If the human brain was simple enough for us to understand, we'd be so simple, we couldn't...

This is pretty wonderful. Your vocals work well on this - they have an understated, naiive quality that reminds me of some mid-eighties indie stuff I used to listen to. And the slightly off-kilter chord change on the chorus is just great. It's catchy enough to be humming it all morning  :)

This is not my favoutite style of music but having said that I have found myself playing and singing it all morning ;D
Well Done 8)

Something has suddenly dawned on me....I got my machine from ebay. Does this mean that all the effects were created by the previous owner? I have more than 20 effects for guitar and I just flicked through them until one sounded right. I can't remember which it was, Or do all machines have things like 'Big Jazz' and 'Core metal'?

On this recording, I bounced the 'strumming' guitar, the bass and the lead guitar to one track, then did three vocals. I did the main song twice to make my voice sound a bit better, then the very risky harmony on top. If it wasn't for the forum, I would still be wishing there was a way to have a fade out!

I think the lead guitar sounds a bit more convincing than my usual efforts - probably because the chord progression is better and there's a 'bridge'. I learned the min 7th arpeggios from my guru teacher.....

I don't think it sounded cheesy at all.  Your voice came across very clear and the harmony was good. You did a great job.  Amazing how lyrics just come to some people.

The patches beginning with a P are presets: P01 through P80

The patches beginning with a U are user patches, and may have been tweaked by the previous owner.

From the manual:

QuoteWhen the MICRO BR is shipped from the factory, the user patches (U) of each bank and the song patches (S) contain the same patches as the preset patches (P).

You know that does sound really good.  I really like the sound of the guitar solo.

You can fade out using the Master Volume during the Mastering mode just before to convert into a MP3 file.

This is very nice and, as you say, a real pop song. greeny's right about that naive indie-ish quality. The solo works well and it's a well constructed song. Really nice job!

Cheers,

Nigel

PS forgot to say I really liked the bass work as well.
