Really great cover, this was one of the first albums I ever bought, on cassette tape. Still have it in the loft I think. I saw this track on the Peel listing and was thinking of doing this myself, but you beat me to it :-) This has got that Rattus sound covered perfectly, totally love this track and your cover. Brilliant - had me singing along.

I've always liked the Stranglers, and this is one of my favourite Stranglers songs. You've done a magnificent job on the playing, mixing and period-authentic feel. And the vocal is absolutely perfect. Killer solo too.

What a great listen. Love it.

Rattus Norvegicus was the first 'proper' album I bought after too, back in 1978, aged 12 or 13. Or one of anyway.  I think the album I bought before that was one by Darts.

Stranglers were my favorite band bar none through that late 70's early 80's times and remain right up there today.

And clearly they were special to you too Pete, the love here shines through.  Very well done, you really captured the spirit of the song and that understated aggression they always brought to what they did.

Excellent job, nice one.

Apologies for the bump but I wanted to pay tribute to Dave Greenfield of The Stranglers who has sadly passed away. I always wanted to cover a Stranglers song but as I can't play keyboards and could never hope to attain Dave's level of playing it was never an option until I found that I could do a very basic impersonation of his magnificent keyboard arpeggios by using Smart Keys on Garageband. Nowhere near the brilliance of Dave's original keys but still one of my SC recordings that I'm proudest of.

RIP Dave
