Not a fan of Billy Bragg and only know and hand full of his songs, of which this is not one of them and I don't think I'll bother looking up the original as really enjoyed this, and this is a Hook song to me now.

Thanks for the kind words my friends. My brother had a copy of Talking With The Taxman About Poetry & I stole it when he went into the military & I was hooked on his songwriting. I was  huge fan until Accidents Waiting To Happen which I liked but I just stopped following him. He gets some play on the community radio station in town & I bet he's better known in the states now then back in the 80s/90s.

Haha - working your way through the alphabet - that's cool. Saw Frank Turner last night, who is mates with Billy Bragg and are often compared musically, although from opposite ends of the political spectrum. (Frank was brilliant btw) I really enjoyed this song Brother, very cool recording - you seem to get a real clarity recording in the car, it sounds tremendous. You can't have the air con going whilst recording, I can only imagine how hot it gets in the car - perhaps that's the secret - excessive heat :-)

Must admit I was never really into Billy Bragg either, which I should have been, I fitted the demographic I think.  No matter, like your version, although I don't know the original.  Nothing fancy, just talent.  Where did I hear that before?
