Hey guys, I've been working on new material for upcoming solo shows. I'm trying to make some $$$ while I'm going to school instead of getting a "real job". I'll be a music teacher when I'm done with school, but it will be a while.  Anyway, I just learned this Don Henley classic and I'm not sure if it works as a sololist kind of song~ It just might though...I'd like to hear your input. You won't hurt my feelings if you think it just doesn't work.  I consider your guys' opinions like I would my brother's 8) 8) I'd like to have 4 hours worth of material....I have a few places that want me to play, I just need to let them know when. So I'm trying to come up with alot of songs~of wide variety...Who knows? Maybe even go.......I don't know..........global?! ;) (I guess this website is global, what am I sayin'?) :D

Anyways, this is my first complete "home video" ;) I'm not sure if I know what I'm doing, and my webcam isn't of the highest  quality...I recorded the audio in Mackie Tracktion 3 and linked it up with the video in Windows Movie Maker...I had a little too much fun with the special effects lol. A little overboard! Anyway, imagine sitting in a bar(not that you guys would no what that's like ;)) or coffe house while listening, and let me know what you think.... If this song works like this........?

p.s. please excuse the mess in the background...I'll clean up tomorrow!! :D

That really works as an acoustic song! Another amazing performance, Kody. Just heaps of talent. This would go down well at any open mic or acoustic-based gig.

Wow that was really good!
It defiantly works as acoustic!
You played it well...

nothing is real... So theres nothing to get hung about!

It's Kodamaina! I personly love this. I may even try it too. Depending on the crowd this will work fine. Hippe, Coffe house, etc..

if your planning to play solo I suggest to have some backing tracks behind you. Drums etc.

What most people want to here are rock covers, waling guitar, and shit they can move too and sing along with. Keep me posted on progress. I may blow off my fishing trip this year to come do some gigs with you in July.

Dude? Nebraska? aren't folks mostly country there or is it just the mom's and dad's that are?
Why don't we do it on the road?

Thanks guys~ I really had fun doing this video thing...Definately gonna do some more>>And I encourage you all to give it a try...it'd be cool to put some faces to your names.  At first I thought it might be a bad idea, but I guess that's why we have the option of sticking a youtube link in our posts?!

That's exactly what I was thinking, but where do I find backing tracks for all of my songs that don't sound like...I don't know...weak. Plus, I transpose just about every song I do from the original key. I have software to change pitches, but it starts sounding terrible(overly effected) when I get it where I need it.

Dude, you can go fishing in Nebraska~ kill 2 birds with 1 stone :P
I can't wait to start fishing when it gets a little warmer. 8) 8) I used to think NE was more "country" than anything, but now that I've been around ~ I'd say it's just as even as anywhere else....except maybe Compton, ect...lot's of different styles...But, ya, I did learn a few country songs for the older folks.  That sentence would have made me barf 10 years ago :-\

I really love your singing!!! And this performance is just another proof of your great talent!!

I don't really think you need a backer, but if you think you do, why not use a midi-file of whatever song you wanna play, mute everything but the bass and drums, put on some extra guitar and record it on your MBR.

Really great job.  It is nice to see you when you are singing, I hear the great singing and emotion in your voice and now I see it also, You rock.  As far as backers are concerned, you have everything you need to make your own.  Using your MBR just make them up, add MBR drums, guitar, bass, etc.  I have made over a dozen backers so far of some of my favorits songs for when I am playing along at home.  It doesn't take too long to make up a backer (no solos, no vocals, 4 tracks max get used), turn them into MP3s and load them into a mp3 player that you can run to the mixer/PA.  I think it would work good.

Great job on this song for a live take.

Is it just me, or does it look like this was filmed in front of a green screen, and a messy apartment was inserted in the background?

A very, very nice performance. I'd like an MP3.

Alright...you figured me out :D :D I was actually in Hollywood in a production studio.......nope :-X :D I'm working on cleaning "the set" today, so next time it should look alright :D

Anyway, I'm hesitant about doing this, but since you asked I'll attach an mp3 for you...after listening to this there's so much I'd like to change, but I don't have time to redo it...Thanks alot!

Bluesberry that is a good idea and it would work, but I'm terrible with drum programming~drives me insane, dude... I'd want to get all the fills just perfect...It's possible, but so is building a Trans-continental railroad! I don't think I have the patience, but Thanks!!

I've been sitting here listening to your song.  You don't need anything.  You and your guitar can do it all on your own.  It was so neat to actually see you.  I agree it's kind of neat to put a face to the person.  But I kind of like the anonomity  (what the hell )  of the site.  NO one knows how old unless you let it slip etc. It's kind of neat because a 60 yr old can sing with a 20 yr old and sound great together and no one would no the difference. If your bald, skinny, fat, ugly,  hair lipped, whatever.  But you don't need to worry about all that stuff, obiviously.  You post all you want. I will watch anyday and when your famous I will buy your albums. And thanks for the mp3.
