I wrote this song with the current/recent conflicts we've been involved in in mind but just after I finished it there was an item on the BBC TV Breakfast programme about a soldier who went away in 1914 not knowing his wife was pregnant with their first child and he was killed a few days later at Le Cateau. He has six living descendants and they interviewed some of them on the programme.
