I heard an interview with the author of this book
as interesting as she was this song is only inspired by the title of her book.

Summer is over and I'm back in the car, it's quite hot so the windows are open and the ambient noise is back.
The pick up in my Epi Les Paul Uke is shot, have one ordered and going to replace myself ???This was done with my Lanakai & the 008, litlr, in a parking lot by a pretty busy road.

The Teacher Wars
written & performed by Hook
There's Mr. Dockery
he teaches history
He's mentioned before
he's taken up archery
today he brought his bow

There's Mrs. Mortimer
I always had a thing for her
Is that a sword
she's wearing on her hip

We've heard talk in the halls
writings been on the walls
The teachers grew some balls
And came to school armed

Mr. Schneider's swinging nunchucks
Mrs. Dean is throwing stars
There's some blood on the floor
I don't know if it's there is or ours
These are the teacher wars

Miss Montgomery
fresh from University
Just scalped mr. Baker
The football coach
And Mrs. Lavigne the drama queen
Slit two throats during her soliloquy

We've heard talk in the halls
writings been on the walls
The teachers grew some balls
And came to school armed
If were good they say
we won't be harmed

The teachers are taking back the schoolsvllo
Get your new handbook and learn the rules
We're not going to tolerate any fools
We got sharks now swimming in the pool

Mr. Mike the janitor
Watches from the shadows
Smiles at a job well done
His seeds of grown within everyone
He sweeps up every trace
Sure that no one will remember his face
And slips away to find
The next school
Him to adjust the minds
Of teachers that
appeared to be just fine

Being somebody in the education field, I found this hard to read through. I did like the twist with the janitor. Very intriguing ending.

Being somebody who also lives in Florida, I have no idea how you record in the heat of a parked car. You are ten times the man I could ever hope to be.

Marvelous stuff, Hook.  Could be the basis for a Stephen King novel.

I'm all for a bit more discipline in schools.  Swords and throwing stars might be going a bit too far......

A great song though.

Cool tune Hook, some nice energy injected into it with that brisk rhythm in the verses.

Particularly like the chord progression in the chorus and how the vocal follows its lead...its a pretty memorable melody.

The recording sounds terrific, the ambience of the background noises are becoming part of your trademark sound!

Nice one!!

Being someone who also record in cars I must say I'm glad I live in Norway ;D (well -20 can be tough, but still better than +30 ;))

Being someone who also enjoys Stephen King I really enjoyed the lyrics ;D

Well done Hook !! Always entertaining and your songs are always a great listen!

Love the uke on this and the Lyrics Hook ...that ambient noise is great i had to keep taking my headphones of thinking someone had turned up in a lorry and as it's nearly midnight now that would be strange ....Fest on!!
